Suvarsha

Suvarsha

Imagine a future where water scarcity is a major concern. Suvarsha, our innovative product/service, harnesses the power of hydroponics, aquaponics, and aeroponics to help you navigate this scenario.

Suvarsha empowers individuals to achieve self-sufficiency through a revolutionary farming system. It utilises significantly less water than traditional irrigation methods, making it ideal for a water-scarce future. We leverage the combined power of hydroponics (growing plants without soil), aquaponics (combining aquaculture with hydroponics), and aeroponics (growing plants in a mist environment).

Project Overview
During my postgrad capstone project, I developed Suvarsha, a product designed to assist individuals in cultivating their own produce through hydroponic systems. My approach involved thorough research to pinpoint the target audience.
Key Features
- Mixed Reality
- Monitoring system
- Plant Catalog

User Research

To kick off the product development process, I conducted 15 user interviews, encompassing a diverse range of participants including first-time users and hydroponic system owners, such as studios with their own setups.

Synthesis

After synthesizing all the insights gathered from the interviews, I grouped them into four overarching meta-insights. Subsequently, I transformed these meta insights into actionable "How Might We" statements.
Based on the four "How Might We" statements, I focused on Meta Insight 2 for further ideation. Keeping this insight in mind, I crafted four distinct low-fidelity prototypes. Engaging my users, I solicited their feedback and asked them to vote on the idea they found most resonant and practical.

Key Insights

Insight 1
First time users are not interested in selling their produce. They would like learn first and then maybe expand the hobby as a profession.
Insight 2
Most of the users prefer their stats to be shown in the app.
Insight 3
A 3D model representation is liked by all as its helps them to visualise the product better.
Insight 4
Stats and summary on the hydroponic is the most essential USP for the app.

Next Steps

Start building upon a physical hydroponic prototype
Having briefly explored physical prototyping during my industrial design days, I'm now eager to leverage the resources available to me and turn this concept into a tangible reality.
Build upon the rest of nav bar pages
With the MSCW framework guiding my focus, I understand the critical path and can now direct attention towards developing the remaining components of the navigation bar. This entails crafting an intuitive user experience for interactions along the critical path.
Work with developers to link the app and the hydroponic
While coding isn't my forte, I'm keen on collaborating with professionals who can provide expert guidance and help me grasp the intricacies of developing this product.
